Read venues & rooms
Names, dimensions, ceiling heights and capacities — so your other systems offer exactly the rooms your team plans in, never a stale copy.
The Metis API
A booking lands in your events system; the floorplan appears in Metis, laid out and ready to polish; the finished PDF flows straight back to the booking — no re-keying, no emailing drawings around. The Metis API connects your booking system, your website or your own tools to your Metis account.
Everything works per account: your venues, your rooms, your plans.
Names, dimensions, ceiling heights and capacities — so your other systems offer exactly the rooms your team plans in, never a stale copy.
Send the room, layout style — banquet, cabaret, theatre, classroom, U-shape and more — and the guest count. Metis creates the plan and lays the room out automatically; your team refine it in the planner.
Every completed plan produces a numbered version with a PDF and image, ready for a function sheet or customer proposal. A changed booking simply produces the next version.
If the booking's numbers or layout change in your events system, the request is flagged in the planner so the team regenerates deliberately — nothing changes behind their back.
One key per connected system, each individually revocable, each limitable — a website that should only read never holds a key that can write.
Build against sandbox keys (mk_test_…) before going live, without touching real plans.
API access belongs to a Metis subscription. The account owner enables it (or asks us to), then manages everything under My Profile → Integrations in the planner.
The owner creates a key for each system being connected and hands it to that integrator. The key is shown once, at creation — store it in the connecting system's server-side configuration.
Authenticate with the key and you're away — the developer guide walks through every call with worked examples — pagination, idempotency, rate limits and error handling included — and the interactive reference carries the full contract.
Keys can be rotated or revoked by the account owner at any time, and every issue, rotation and revocation is recorded in an audit trail.
The API speaks the language of the industry: occasions, rooms, layout styles and guest counts in; versioned, print-ready floorplans out. If your platform already integrates with other diagramming tools, the compatible request flow makes switching a venue to Metis a configuration change, not a rebuild — talk to us about a partner integration.
Subscribers: switch on Integrations in your profile, or ask us and we'll set it up with your developer on a call.
